We are seeking an experienced Contract Document Preparation Engineer (Civil) with a solid background in the preparation, evaluation, and management of contract documentation for infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The role involves drafting tender documents, preparing bids, reviewing technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant contractual, legal, and engineering standards. The ideal candidate should have experience working with government procurement processes, Item Rates, EPC and standard contract forms like FIDIC, EPC, or SBDs.
- Prepare comprehensive contract and tender documents including technical specifications, general & special conditions, BOQs, and work schedules.
- Coordinate with planning, design, and estimation teams to compile accurate technical content and cost data.
- Ensure contract documents are aligned with relevant codes, standards (e.g., CPWD, IRC, IS), and applicable legal/regulatory frameworks.
- Customize standard bidding documents as per project requirements.
- Assist in preparing prequalification documents, RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluation criteria.
- Review and incorporate relevant clauses covering scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and dispute resolution.
- Participate in bid opening, evaluation, and negotiations as technical support.
- Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to finalize contractual terms.
- Maintain a repository of standard contract clauses, templates, and lessons learned for reuse.
- Monitor contract-related risks and suggest mitigation measures.
Essential Skills:
- Strong knowledge of public procurement norms, EPC/FIDIC contracts, and tendering practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and familiarity with e-procurement platforms.
- Excellent understanding of contract administration, cost estimation, and scheduling.
- Good analytical, negotiation, and technical writing skills.
- Familiarity with relevant acts, codes, and government guidelines (GFR, PWD manuals, etc.).
